RWI (Read Write Inc.) Phonics
This structured and systematic approach teaches children the sounds in English, the letters that represent them, and how to form the letters when writing. Children practice reading in school using reading books which only contain words they can 'decode' using the sounds they have learnt (and a small number of separately taught tricky words).
