Welcome to Class 3!
In Year 3 we have a teacher called Mrs Sutton who is kind. We also have Mrs Davison, our trainee Teaching Assistant, helping in the mornings for English and Maths. In the afternoons, Mrs Whittaker will be doing Bus Stop Interventions.
Year 3 is a Key Stage 2 Class, so we have playtime on the front playground in the winter and go on the field when it is nice weather. In Year 3 we start learning French with Mrs Brabben. We also learn to play the ukulele in Music. When you start Year 3 you also have the opportunity to learn an other instrument, such as the clarinet, flute or guitar. Year 3 also go swimming during one big term.
In Year 3 we learn lots of different things, such as sewing and baking. Our topics also include: Ancient Egyptians, rainforests and plastic pollution.
There are some important skills to learn in Year 3. There is a big focus on handwriting, times tables and telling the time to the nearest minute. We also learn written methods for adding and subtracting.
We try to bring learning to life through school trips. During the Autumn Term we are going to the Lincolnshire Showground and having an Egyptian WOW day. We are also celebrating Lincolnshire Day as well as having a Christmas sewing afternoon with parents and grandparents.
