BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons

Please read our newsletter and the published timetable detailing the BBC Bitesize Daily lessons available from Monday 20th April.

 

The lessons have two parts;

  • A BBC iPlayer special programme
  • Matching educational materials on the BBC Bitesize website

Additional Summer Term Home Learning 

The following link will take you to some additional home learning resources and planning that has been shared with us. It provides a very good structure to the summer term with resources and activities to aid home learning. Feel free to use them to supplement the BBC Bitesize Lessons. 

Accelerated Reader

Here is the link to our Accelerated Reader website for the children to carry on taking quizzes on books they have read at home. Please encourage the children to continue to read, even if it is for 10 minutes a day. If you are reading books from home and would like to see if the book has an accelerated reader quiz (as many books do) then please search using the authors name and/or the book title.

Accelerated Reader e-books through myON

Follow this link to access over 7000 books, each with an Accelerated Reader quiz! This will allow your child to continue reading at home and quizzing to continue developing their reading comprehension skills. In order to search for books by book level please watch the video tutorial below.

Use this online tutorial to help you find books that match your ZPD range so that you can quiz on them in Accelerated Reader when you've finished reading.

Oxford Owl

Many of our younger children are used to selecting books which closely match their phonic ability. Oxford Owl provides a huge variety of free e-books including books from the ever-popular Oxford Reading Tree, Read Write Inc, Project X and more!
